Chelsea Star Maxence Lacroix Shares How Jesus 'Changed Totally' His Life

Maxence Lacroix, a French Soccer player, began his career in 2018 when he made his senior debut at Sochaux. He then spent four years at Bundesliga side Wolfsburg. Today, however, the Chelsea Star shares how Jesus totally changed his life and flipped it upside down.

Calling Christianity and his relationship with the Lord the new “foundation” for his life, Lacroix believes that without God, he wouldn’t be where he is today.

"I didn't grow up in a Christian family, but I really met Jesus some years ago, and I changed totally my life, to walk totally like he wants," Lacroix said in a Chelsea Football Club Facebook feature.

Lacroix, who plays defense, went on to explain to Premiere Christian News that this foundation and stability are something that has helped him both on and off the field:

"It was a beautiful journey...the journey is not finished, of course. But yeah, it's like the foundation of my life," he said. "And this helps me every single day, every single moment because sometimes in football, you have ups and downs.. and it's really important to have something different than just human beings."

At just 26 years young, Lacroix is joining Chelsea after a single season at Crystal Palace. While Lacroix did help his former club win the FA Cup for the first time in history, he’s excited to move towards a new adventure. According to the Guardian, “Maxence Lacroix joins ‘beautiful club’ Chelsea as John Stones seals Inter deal.” 

Signing a six-year contract with Xabi Alonso’s side, Lacroix said he’s “really happy to be part of this beautiful club. Everyone knows the legend of Chelsea, its tradition of winning, and to be a part of that is a proud moment. I think it’s the best move for me because it’s the best club in the world. When I spoke with the manager, I saw that we have the same direction and desire for this club. We want to win. When you see the quality of the players here, everything we have around the club, it’s something that we can achieve. The ambition is to lift trophies, and I can’t wait to contribute.”
