Don't Miss the Blessings Right in Front of You
Most of us spend a lot of time looking ahead.
We're waiting for the next vacation, the next promotion, the next season, or the next answer to prayer. In the process, we can miss the blessings God has already placed right in front of us.
Ecclesiastes 5:18 reminds us that it is good to find satisfaction in the life God has given us.
That doesn't mean life is always easy. Responsibilities can be exhausting. Trials can feel overwhelming. Some days seem repetitive and ordinary.
Yet God's goodness often shows up in ordinary places.
A conversation with a friend.
A beautiful sunset.
A butterfly in the garden.
A shared laugh.
A quiet moment of peace.
These simple gifts remind us that joy isn't always found in extraordinary experiences. Sometimes it's found in slowing down long enough to notice what God is already doing.
Tonight, ask God to help you see His blessings with fresh eyes. You may discover that joy has been closer than you realized all along.
Prayer
Father,
Thank You for the many blessings I often overlook. Life can become so busy that I miss the beauty and goodness You place in front of me every day.
Open my eyes to the simple gifts You've given me. Help me find contentment in this season and gratitude for the life You've entrusted to me.
Forgive me for focusing on what I lack instead of celebrating what You've already provided. Teach me to slow down, notice Your goodness, and find joy in ordinary moments.
Thank You for being present in both the big and small moments of life.
