About Points of Light

Points of Light Youth Ministry was launched in September 2007, in Oakland’s most troubled neighborhood. On a weekly basis POL serves youth between the ages of 12-20 years old. POL is one of the fastest growing youth movements in the East Bay. Our strategy places a team of four youth directors in each of the seven Districts of Oakland, who implement the POL Program.

The program consist of six pillars which are outreaches, campus clubs, dynamic services, visitations, fellowship groups, and leadership camps. Each week the Youth Directors reach over 600 teenagers through the various programs.
