Jeremy Camp Asks for Prayer for Band Member

GRAMMY-nominated artist Jeremy Camp took to social media to ask fans everywhere to pray for his guitarist, who has developed an illness that has doctors puzzled.  

Toby Friesen, who has played guitar with Camp for 14 years, is going through a battery of tests to determine what is wrong with him.  Friesen was admitted to hospital with an unknown illness, and has remained there for the past month.

Currently working with an Infectious Disease Doctor, they are trying to determine if the guitarist has Histoplasmosis, a fungal infection from breathing in spores of the Histoplasma capsulatum fungus. Doctors are stumped and are continuing testing, including a lung biopsy.  

Meanwhile, Jeremy Camp went on his Instagram page and issued this call to prayer:

If you don’t know Toby, he’s been playing guitar with me for the past 14 years and has been such a rock for our team. His heart, consistency, and faithfulness are truly unmatched, and we’ve been incredibly blessed to have him as part of this family.
I’m asking for big prayers right now. Toby has been battling an unknown illness for the past month, and it’s been a really heavy season. The doctors are still unsure what’s going on, but we’re trusting the Lord to give wisdom, clarity, and healing—and praying this resolves quickly.
He’s married and has three little ones, and being in the hospital during a season like this is especially hard, as many of you know all too well. Please keep Toby, his wife, and their kids covered in prayer. We believe God is near, even in the uncertainty.


Your prayers for Toby and his family are also welcome. We pray for an accurate diagnosis and a quick recovery for Toby.
