Greetings from beautiful Palm Beach, Florida. This week I had the pleasure of escaping for a quick night away with Kevin. I got to enjoy 24 hours of summer and am currently headed home to reality and our busy fall. If you’re like me, trying to figure out what to make for dinner in the middle of activities and possibly some travel, may I suggest this roasted tomato soup served with grilled cheddar panini soldiers for dipping. It’s all the flavors and velvety creaminess of the childhood favorite, but more sophisticated ingredients elevate it to a more grown-up meal. 

And then for something sweet this week, I’m bringing you my best chocolate chip cookie recipe. I’ve made so many chocolate chip cookies over the years, but I keep coming back to these. They bake up big and chewy, and a sprinkle of fleur de sel gives them a perfect combination of salty sweetness. 

Finally I had the chance to eat at one of my favorite cafes while in Palm beach. Sant Ambroeus has a few outposts in Manhattan and the Hamptons, and also in Palm Beach. They have a lovely menu of Italian offerings, as well as beautiful cocktails, and amazing espresso and gelato. Anytime I’m there, I immediately feel transported to Italy.
